Richi Bhatia’s first solo exhibition is on view at Gallery Isabelle

Born in 1990, Richi Bhatia is an Indian artist based in the UAE.

ArtDayME: Indian multidisciplinary artist Richi Bhatia is currently presenting her first solo exhibition, "Antevasin – the one who sits at the border of two worlds," on view through September 10 at Gallery Isabelle in Dubai.

Rooted in embodied research and ethnographic inquiry, Bhatia’s work explores the porous boundaries between public and private, human and non-human, survival and displacement. Her sculptural installations and performance-based pieces draw from lived experiences in meat markets and migrant worker accommodations in both India and the UAE.

Highlights from the exhibition include “Hybrid Setup I” (2022), a deeply personal drawing series blending emotional residue with bodily textures, and “The Animals, the Bodies, and Coefficient of Time I” (2025), a house-like sculpture entirely covered in fish scales, reflecting on labor, fragility, and resilience.

Through layered materials, visceral forms, and intimate narratives, the exhibition invites visitors into a contemplative space where memory, market, and the body converge.

Born in 1990, Richi Bhatia is an Indian artist based in the UAE. Her multidisciplinary practice spans performance, drawing, installation, and field-based research, exploring the body as a tool for sensing illness, labor, environment, and social systems. Her work has previously been exhibited at venues including Foundry, Alserkal Foundation, Gallery Isabelle, New York University Abu Dhabi, and Bikner House, New Delhi.
