Narges Soleimanzadeh at Etihad Modern Art Gallery
ArtDayME: After an eight-year pause, Iranian artist Narges Soleimanzadeh returns with her long-awaited solo exhibition, The Red Between Us, at Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi. Art-directed by Javid Andalib, this marks her fifth solo exhibition, offering a rare opportunity to engage with the evolution of her practice over more than two decades. The show runs until 10 November 2025.
The exhibition brings together two series created between 2022 and 2025. Untamed Garden presents imagery that is playful, instinctive, and fluid, while Encoded Presence explores identity through abstraction, fragmentation, and careful structuring of form. Each series inhabits a distinct emotional universe, yet the two converge in the installation The Red Between Us. Visitors encountering it are immediately struck by its bittersweet, almost hypnotic presence, reflecting the tension and delicacy that runs through Narges’ work.
The installation features a brood of chicken sculptures moving toward a red square, alongside a sculptural red child figure, creating a moment of quiet reflection amid the oscillating moods of the exhibition. The result is an encounter that is at once playful, unsettling, and quietly profound, inviting viewers to inhabit the space between instinct and contemplation.
The Red Between Us is on view daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi.
