Art Dubai and ARM Holding Launch International Call for Landmark Public Artwork in Dubai
Artists Invited to Respond to Theme of Resilience and Renewal Through Permanent Commission for HUNA Sculpture Park
ArtDayMe - ARM Holding and Art Dubai have announced an open call for proposals for a major new permanent public artwork in Dubai. Titled “We Emerge Stronger” (بنظهر أقوى), the commission will be installed at the HUNA Sculpture Park at H Residence on Jumeirah Road and invites artists to create a site-specific work inspired by the themes of collective resilience, renewal, and shared strength.
Derived from a statement by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the commission seeks ambitious artistic responses that explore the power of communities to overcome challenges and build a stronger future together. The selected artwork will become a permanent addition to one of Dubai’s most prominent open-air sculpture destinations.
The opportunity is open to UAE-based, regional, and international artists, as well as artist-gallery collaborations, with prior experience in permanent public artworks or large-scale outdoor installations. Participants are encouraged to consider materiality, form, scale, light, and public interaction in their proposals, whether interpreting the theme literally or conceptually.
Applications opened on 17 June and will remain open until 25 July. Submission guidelines and application details are available through the Art Dubai website.
Proposals will be assessed on curatorial relevance, responsiveness to the site, artistic strength, public presence, and technical feasibility.
Established in 2024 alongside the opening of Art Dubai, HUNA Sculpture Park at H Residence has quickly become a significant cultural landmark in the city.
The park’s inaugural collection featured works by Rana Begum, Shaikha Al Mazrou and Pablo Reinoso, and today includes both permanent and temporary installations by artists such as Khalid Al Banna, Nadim Karam, Sara Naim and Jacob Dahlgren. A permanent work by Dahlgren, Early One Morning, was added to the collection in 2025.
