This immersive installation is divided into three periods to deepen the links that exist between light, knowledge and the fullness of being.

ArtDayME: Matias De Falcis has exhibited an Immersive Art Installation called Journey of Light at the Sharjah Art Museum, United Arab Emirates for the Islamic Arts Festival from Dec 13 to Jan 21.

This immersive installation is divided into three periods to deepen the links that exist between light, knowledge and the fullness of being.

The first period, DARKNESS, represents the incorporation of knowledge into Islamic culture. Then the period of GESTATION, a space for introspection and assimilation of said phenomenon. Finally, the ORIGIN, where the creation of the Islamic pattern emerges through light as a monument to the wisdom achieved.

Darkness

The beginning of the journey presents the viewer with a dark space with particles of light moving at high speeds symbolizing the incorporation of knowledge for islamic culture

Gestation

As time passes, the intensity of the lighting gradually increases until you reach a space of introspection and assimilation.

Origin

Finally, a sudden and intense illumination of the space is experienced Like a kind of glow an Islamic patterned layer emerges as a monument to the wisdom achieved.

The Islamic Arts Festival is an international artistic event specialized in islamic arts organized by the Cultural Affairs Departmnt in the Sharjah government, reflecting the vitality and expressive depth of Islamic arts as a global artistic language. The Islamic Arts Festival, found in 1998, signifies the achievement of Islamic art in its cultural and aesthetic dimentions. Each year, it showscases rich and diverse artistic styles.
