Featuring paintings, works on paper, assemblages, and papier-mâché sculptures, “Two Clouds in the Night Sky” reflects Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim's meditative exploration of nature, memory, and imagination.

ArtDayME: The exhibition “Two Clouds in the Night Sky” has opened at the Cultural Foundation, showcasing the pioneering Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim. Known for his meditative and process-driven approach rooted in the landscapes of Khor Fakkan,

Ibrahim presents a comprehensive selection of paintings, works on paper, assemblages, and papier-mâché sculptures that explore themes of nature, memory, and imagination.

The exhibition takes its title from Ibrahim’s recent cloud-inspired works, revealing his poetic sensibility that connects environment and abstraction. Organized into four thematic sections — In Transit, Traces Made Visible, Shapeshifters, and Where the Land Turns to Play — the show features notable series such as Sitting Man (2010–2015), Sitting Woman Only One (2010), and his early land art pieces including Draped Trees (1996) and Khorfakkan Circles (2004).

Anchoring the presentation is the newly commissioned installation Time | Place | Void (2025), which translates Ibrahim’s iconic line drawings into an architectural experience. The exhibition also debuts Touchable (2025), his first work designed for tactile interaction, alongside the outdoor installation Al Ain Oasis (2023) at the Al Hosn site.

Paying tribute to Ibrahim’s landmark 1991 solo exhibition at the same venue, Two Clouds in the Night Sky includes the rarely seen Untitled from that period, marking a full-circle moment in his artistic journey. The exhibition will remain on view until 22 February 2026.
