Dubai Hosted an Inspiring Art Exhibition Honoring the Medical Community at Azad University
ArtDayMe: The Islamic Azad University Dubai Branch recently hosted an inspiring two-day art exhibition titled “A Tribute to the Medical Community”, held on October 3rd and 4th. The event brought together a group of talented painters, photographers, and calligraphers from diverse cultural backgrounds, all united by a shared message of gratitude and appreciation for the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals.
Organized under the leadership of Dr. Shahrzad Tahery, Head of the Art Department at Azad University Dubai, and supported by Dr. Reza Fadayevatan, President of the Islamic Azad University Dubai Branch, in collaboration with Sakku Art, the exhibition highlighted the power of art as a bridge between creativity, compassion, and community well-being. The university campus in Dubai Knowledge Park was transformed into a vibrant gallery space celebrating the intersection of art and medicine.
A number of distinguished guests and dignitaries attended and admired the exhibition, including Dr. Reza Ameri, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Arab Emirates; Dr. Alireza Mahmoudi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dubai; Dr. Taher Doroudi, Director General of the Iranian Hospital – Dubai; Teymur Abduljalil, Consul General of Kazakhstan in the UAE; Abdullah Al Amania, the designer of the UAE national flag; Khalil Abdul Wahid, Visual Arts Manager at Dubai Culture; Yaqoob Al Ali, from the Dubai Royal Family, Executive Director and Private Advisor; Maktoum Al Marzouqi, businessman and owner of Al Marzouqi Group of Companies; and Ahmad Al Mahmoud, Government Advisor.
Their presence reflected the cultural and diplomatic significance of the event, which successfully united artists, medical leaders, and community representatives in a shared atmosphere of respect and creativity.
A particularly emotional highlight of the evening was a live painting performance by the DAA Art Group, who created a portrait of Dr. Mohammad Gharib, the renowned Iranian pediatrician and founder of modern pediatrics in Iran. Visitors were invited to sign the portrait as a symbolic gesture of admiration for the medical profession. The completed artwork was later presented as a memorable gift to Dr. Taher Doroudi, honoring his leadership at the Iranian Hospital in Dubai.
The exhibition featured an impressive lineup of artists, including
Ahmad Alawadhi ‘Rukni’, Keyvan Ahmadnia, Fatma Alshehhi, Nasrin Badiei, Elaheh Baghaie, Rooha Dabbaghian, Mehrnoosh Doshmanziary, Elham Ghorbani Shad, Fernanda Grasselli Rampon, Diana Hancinska, Parimah Hasani, Hilde Kuchler, Zohreh Maleki, Maryam Malziri, Silvia Pusceddu, Shahla Shahrasbi, and Shahrzad Tahery.
