ArtDayME - Vilma Jurkute, Executive Director of Alserkal, has announced that she is stepping down after 14 years with the organization. She shared the news in a personal message on Instagram, reflecting on her years at Alserkal and expressing gratitude to the people who shaped her journey.

Opening her statement, Jurkute wrote: “It’s a big day today, as I close the chapter on 14 years at Alserkal. What I am most proud of is not our milestones, but what we stand for and what we represent. I have always said that at Alserkal, we look to where boundaries meet, not where they divide. The community we have built reflects that belief.”

She emphasized that her departure was not a farewell to Alserkal itself, writing: “This is not a goodbye, because Alserkal was never just a job for me. It was a mission, an obsession, and a calling. It was also the greatest school. And I will carry it with me wherever I go.”

Jurkute concluded her message by thanking those who had been part of her journey: “I will remain forever grateful to my colleagues, who were my thinking partners, our founder Abdelmonem Alserkal, our community members and the UAE’s leadership, who helped me shape Alserkal to what it has become today.”

Following her announcement, Alserkal founder Abdelmonem Alserkal shared a public message of appreciation on Instagram, writing: “My sincere gratitude to you Vilma Jurkute for making the vision of Alserkal a reality and the role that you’ve played in building the foundation of Dubai’s cultural scene.”
