Look: Mattar bin Lahej has graced the Museum of the Future, Qasr Al Watan and more with his art

ArtDayME: Mattar Bin Lahej (born 1968) is an Emirati painter, photographer and sculptor from Dubai. He founded Marsam Mattar, the first art gallery in the United Arab Emirates to be managed by an artist. Mattar Bin Lahej, stands out for his remarkable artistic skills and bold style. Throughout his artistic journey, he has created numerous artworks, most notably his Arabic calligraphy designs that add a unique touch to the Museum of the Future. In addition, Bin Lahej transformed the lyrics of the national anthem using the 'Matar' font that he created to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates. His other work, Power of Words – which is live at Abu Dhabi's Qasr Al Watan, a cultural landmark located in the presidential palace compound of the capital.
