25 Prominent Iranian Painters at Noor Royal Gallery, Dubai / Curated by Shirin Eskandari
ArtDayMe : The exhibition “Fragments of Identity”, curated by Shirin Eskandari, will open on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 8:00 PM at Noor Royal Gallery in Dubai.
Noor Royal Gallery is a forward-looking art institution recently established by Somayeh Noor in Jumeirah, Dubai.
“Fragments of Identity” brings together 25 established Iranian artists in an effort to re-examine the notion of identity within contemporary Iranian art. In this project, Eskandari adopts a research-driven and analytical approach, exploring the relationship between the visual roots of Iranian tradition and modern as well as contemporary experiences through a cohesive curatorial arrangement. Within this framework, “identity” is presented not as a static concept, but as a multilayered, fragmented, and continually redefined phenomenon.
According to Eskandari, the central premise of the exhibition rests on “micro-narratives of identity”—how each artist, in confronting history, collective memory, migration, myth, and lived personal experience, constructs a distinct and singular narrative. The selection of works focuses on pioneering gestures within Iranian modernism alongside fresh readings of contemporary painting, aiming to highlight intergenerational connections within a shared visual platform.

The presence of distinguished figures such as Aydin Aghdashloo, Nasser Ovissi, Reza Derakshani, Jalal Shabahangi, Alireza Eskandari , and Mehrdad Mohebali alongside artists of subsequent generations lends the exhibition a dialogical structure—a conversation between past and present, tradition and experimentation.
The exhibition features works by: Aydin Aghdashloo, Nasser Ovissi, Reza Derakshani, Hadi Fadavi, Alireza Eskandari, Jalal Shabahangi, Siamak Azmi, Mehrdad Mohebali, Hamed Sadr Erhami, Rezvan Sadeghzadeh, Zhila Kamyab, Arman Yaghoubpour, Hossein Irandoust, Masoud Kashmiri, Mitra Kavian, Siavash Soufinejad, Shahin Eskandari, Nasrin Hassani, Peyman Shafei, Erfan Shahyad, Barana Saadat, Alireza Chamk, Issa Jabbari, Alireza Chalepa, and Amir Shahrokh Faryousfi.

The exhibition will be held at Noor Royal Gallery, located at: No. 235, Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE, and will welcome visitors starting February 27, 2026.
The event will run for one month. Enthusiasts of modern and contemporary Iranian art will have the opportunity to view a curated selection of significant works by 25 prominent Iranian artists at one of the active galleries shaping Dubai’s dynamic art scene.
