ArtDayMe : Zohreh Mehraban, Founder and Director of Maad Gallery, has curated an unconventional exhibition bringing together the works of 22 artists within the setting of a historic garden—an exhibition that has attracted considerable attention in recent days.

The exhibition assembles artists from different generations and artistic perspectives, creating a dialogue between diverse approaches to sculpture and installation. Together, the works reflect multiple dimensions of the human experience. This diversity of media and expression invites viewers to encounter varying interpretations of the body, memory, identity, nature, and the world around us, while deliberately resisting a singular narrative or formal language.

The choice of Bagh-e Sizdah Chenar extends beyond that of a conventional exhibition venue. Here, the artworks engage in a quiet conversation with the garden's greenery, mature trees, and contemplative atmosphere, dissolving the boundaries between gallery space and nature.

Within this environment, the sculptures and installations function not merely as autonomous art objects, but as integral elements of an immersive spatial experience—one that encourages visitors to pause, reflect, and reconsider humanity's enduring relationship with nature.

What distinguishes Unto Human, curated by Zohreh Mehraban, is its ability to unite a multiplicity of artistic voices around a shared conceptual framework. Rather than offering definitive answers about what it means to be human, the exhibition poses an open question: What relationship does contemporary humanity maintain with nature, matter, and the self amid the relentless pace of modern life? Each work approaches this question from a distinct perspective, collectively creating a poetic and thought-provoking experience within the unique setting of Bagh-e Sizdah Chenar.

The exhibition features works by Hosein Azadi (2 works), Alireza Azar, Bahram Ashofteh (4 works), Bahador Ehsani, Masoud Akhavanjam, Sadegh Adham, Mohammadreza Pourkamali (2 works), Saleh Chalangar (3 works), Sara Hakimi, Marjan Khezli (2 works), Aref Rodbari Shahmiri, Hadi Roshanzamir, Bijan Ghonchehpour, Roohollah Shamsizadeh, Farnam Farshad (3 works), Shahrokh Faryousefi, Minoo Qazi, Sara Keshmiri, Behnaz Mohammadhadi (2 works), Jamshid Moradian (2 works), Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari, and Mehdi Nabavi (2 works).

In its invitation to the exhibition, Maad Gallery writes:

"This garden invites us to pause; to enter a space of silence, contemplation, and the rediscovery of the timeless bond between humanity, nature, and matter. Here, for a brief moment, we step away from the urgency of the world and come to see ourselves not as separate from nature, but as its continuation. Earth, mirrors, and the sounds of nature become gateways to an immediate and unmediated experience—one that transcends the boundaries of walls and reconnects us with the natural world."

Unto Human, which opened on 17 July 2026, remains on view through 31 July 2026 at Bagh-e Sizdah Chenar, No. 32, Sizdah Chenar Alley, Darakeh (Davoudian) Street, Tehran.
