ArtDayMe: “Beyond the Wall, This Side of the Window,” curated by Sepideh Zarrat and featuring 70 works by 39 artists, is on view at MAAD Gallery as part of Tehran Art Month.
The curatorial project “Beyond the Wall, This Side of the Window,” curated by Sepideh Zarrat, is being presented as part of the Art Month event under the theme “For the People, For the City, For Art.” The exhibition opened on Friday, August 21, and will remain on view through September 11, 2026, at MAAD Gallery.
Featuring 70 works by 39 artists, the project seeks, through a conceptual and curatorial approach, to revisit the wall and the window as fundamental concepts in human lived experience and urban life, within the context of contemporary Iranian art.
This multidisciplinary art project has been developed with the collaboration of Zohreh Mehraban, founder and director of MAAD Gallery, and Yasaman Ramezanmahi, the gallery’s artistic director. The project focuses on creating a dialogue between different generations, artistic languages, and media within contemporary art.
The exhibition is structured in a non-linear manner, based on conceptual relationships between the works. The installations presented in the exhibition are also conceived as focal points that shape and punctuate the viewer’s spatial experience.
The participating artists are:
Alireza Adambakan, Shahal Armin, Mitra Ebrahimi, Firouzeh Akhlaghi, Sadegh Adham, Iraj Eskandari, Shahpari Behzadi, Fereydoun Omidi, Zohreh Hatamipour, Mahyar Charmchi, Faramarz Khani, Kambiz Derambakhsh, Ataollah Zeynouri, Taher Sheykholhokama, Bahareh Shahidi, Sahar Salehi, Hamed Sadr Arhami, Manouchehr Sefarzadeh (Mash Mesh), Ghodratollah Agheli, Nasrin Atighechi, Zahra Asali, Ali Ghaemi, Mostafa Ghorbani, Maryam Ghazvineh, Majid Kamrani, Parviz Kalantari, Ali Mirfatah, Ardeshir Mirmangereh, Keyumars Harpa, Rasoul Younan, Farzaneh Bahram-Nouri, Abdolnasser Giv, Siavash Zarrat, Mohsen Nasirian, Niloufar Mohammadi, Reza Hedayat, Sobhan Sajjadieh, Ahmad Vakili, and Mahta Moeini.
The diversity of media is another notable aspect of the exhibition. The works on view include painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and collage/assemblage, employing a range of techniques and materials such as oil paint, acrylic, mixed media, rapidograph, graphite pencil, bronze, basalt stone, iron, wood, mirror, and video. Together, they offer a multilayered view of the diverse approaches adopted by the participating artists.
