Sheikha Latifa and Sheikh Hamdan launched the inaugural Dubai Calligraphy Biennale yesterday. The Biennale will be open until October 31.
The biennale's programme, which extends throughout the month of October and is held with the participation and support of more than 200 local and international artists and creators, will include organising about 16 exhibitions and activating more than 30 locations across Dubai.
Running from September 18th to December, and the aim is to provide aspiring artists with valuable educational and cultural experiences.
Work by five residents have been selected from more than 300 submissions.
The winning artist will be awarded Dh 30,000 and have the opportunity to showcase their mural at the Waterfront Market as part of the Dubai Art Season 2024
The month-long festival showcasing the traditional art form will include more than 15 exhibitions across the city.
Dubai Calligraphy Biennale is supported by prestigious cultural entities.
