The 11th Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial will be held in October

The Sharjah Department of Culture's Department of Cultural Affairs will host the event over a two-month period with local, Arab, and international participation.

ArtDayME: The eleventh edition of the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is scheduled to begin in October.

The Sharjah Department of Culture's Department of Cultural Affairs will host the event over a two-month period with local, Arab, and international participation.

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture and the director of the event, met with Taj Al Sir Hasan, Khaled Al Saai, and Khaled Mi'araj in attendance.

Al Qaseer said, "Under the directives of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, the eleventh edition of the eventcomes with a new approach, emphasising Sharjah's leading role in promoting Arabic calligraphy and enhancing its rich historical and cultural mission."

The preparation committee for the event will begin distributing invitations to calligraphers and artists from other nations this month, announcing the acceptance of entries via the department's official website and social media outlets. The deadline for electronic applications is scheduled for the end of May.
