Housing over 1,500 objects across six permanent galleries, the museum combines archaeological artifacts, historic objects, contemporary installations, audiovisual experiences, and authentic reconstructions. Visitors begin at the 600-metre outdoor Al Masar Garden, then explore galleries focused on Sheikh Zayed’s life, the UAE’s natural landscapes, and 300,000 years of human habitation. These exhibitions reveal how geography, innovation, cultural exchange, and faith shaped Emirati identity.
Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Norman Foster, the museum is a world-class centre for research, learning, and cultural engagement. Its opening marks a major milestone in the UAE’s cultural legacy, complementing other key institutions in Saadiyat Cultural District.
