ArtDayME - ATHR Gallery has announced the representation of Abdulrahman Al Soliman, one of the pioneering figures of Saudi Arabia’s modern art movement.

Born in 1954, Al Soliman is a Saudi visual artist and writer whose practice has developed a distinctive visual language that brings together local heritage, cultural symbols, and abstraction. His work is rooted in Saudi storytelling and collective memory.

According to ATHR Gallery, Al Soliman is regarded as one of the foundational figures of the Saudi art scene. In 2000, he documented its history in his reference book The Journey of the Saudi Fine Arts Movement. He also served as the first president of the Saudi Society for Fine Arts from 2007 to 2012 and has played an important role in supporting and mentoring generations of artists.

The gallery also announced that it will present Al Soliman’s works at Frieze Masters, alongside Frieze London, from 14–18 October 2026 at The Regent’s Park in London, as part of its continued support for the artist’s practice.

The announcement features two works by Al Soliman: Excavations of Memory 1 (1988) and Excavations of Memory 2 (1988).
