Mehdi Sahabi and Manouchehr Safarzadeh: Two Iranian Masterpieces at Mojdeh Gallery

ArtDayMe: Mojdeh Gallery in Tehran, directed by Mojdeh Tabatabaei, is currently presenting a distinctive exhibition that brings together a curated selection of paintings by Mehdi Sahabi and Manouchehr Safarzadeh in one frame.

Titled “Time Regained,” the exhibition—curated by Sa’adat Afzoud—invites viewers to revisit and reinterpret the works of these two artists, both of whom passed away in the month of Aban [November].

By placing selected works of Sahabi and Safarzadeh side by side, the curator creates a renewed reading and a meaningful dialogue between the two.

It is worth noting that Mehdi Sahabi passed away on 9 November 2009, and Manouchehr Safarzadeh on 20 November 2023.

The exhibition is being held both physically and virtually.

The physical edition of “Time Regained” will be on view at Mojdeh Gallery—located in Sa’adat Abad, Allameh Shomali Street, East 18th Street—through 21 November 2025, while the virtual edition remains permanently accessible at mojdehart.gallery.

Many well-known figures attended the exhibition, including Hoseinali Zabehi, Seyed Mehdi Hosseini, Ahmad Vakili, Mohammad Ali Bani Asadi, Shahnaz Zehtab, Hossein MirKazemi, Majid Sahabi, Ehsan Aghaei, and others.

A film for this exhibition, produced by Mehdi Rezakhani, revisits the artistic vision and long-standing friendship of Mehdi Sahabi and Manoochehr Safarzadeh through parallel montages. The film was screened at various intervals at Mojdeh Gallery.
