Mehrdad Fallah Sells Out with Ten Paintings in Virginia, USA
All ten paintings by Iranian artist Mehrdad Fallah presented in an exhibition in Virginia, United States, have been sold.
ArtDayMe : Iranian painter Mehrdad Fallah has sold all ten works he presented in the exhibition Persian Whisper at Arian Gallery, located in Pars Place in Virginia, USA.
The exhibition featured works from Fallah's celebrated Lions, Roosters, and Quranic Calligraphic Compositions series.

This marked Fallah's second exhibition in the United States. His first American exhibition was held at Seihon Gallery in Washington, D.C. This time, he exhibited alongside two fellow Iranian artists under the curatorship of Mehdi Rouhani at Arian Gallery in Virginia.
Persian Whisper brought together the works of Mehrdad Fallah, Hamid Hadinejad, and Golnaz Shavalmanesh, and was on view from November 16 to December 14, 2025.

Speaking about the exhibition's title and his artistic approach, Mehrdad Fallah said:
"Persian Whisper is, for me, a quiet yet resonant voice—a voice that emerges from the heart of line and ornament. It encourages me to build a living bridge between tradition and the present through the fusion of calligraphic painting, figurative imagery, and a contemporary language of color. Alongside Hamid Hadinejad and Golnaz Shavalmanesh, each of us narrates a different facet of this shared voice. Hadinejad does so through the energetic rhythm of color and texture; Shavalmanesh through her refined reinterpretation of Persian miniature painting; and I through lines that gradually transform into living forms—from lions and roosters to prayers taking shape. Together, we have sought to invite viewers into a quiet dialogue—one that neither remains trapped in nostalgia nor abandons its roots. I hope this whisper will be heard within the silence of the gallery, allowing every visitor to discover a personal narrative of contemporary Iranian art.*"

Reflecting on his successful solo exhibition held last year at Otto-Mauer-Zentrum in Vienna, Austria, Mehrdad Fallah also commented on the response of European audiences:
"The Vienna exhibition attracted a remarkable number of visitors and, due to strong public response, was extended by an additional week. Eight of the fourteen works on display were sold. European audiences engage with art thoughtfully and with genuine curiosity. They were particularly interested in the exhibition's emphasis on the visual subtleties of Iranian culture."

Born in Tehran in 1975, Mehrdad Fallah grew up in a traditional family, though it was far from ordinary. It was also the family of one of the pioneers of modern Iranian painting, Sadegh Tabrizi. The late master, who was Fallah's maternal uncle, became his mentor, and Fallah was regarded as one of his closest and most distinguished students.
Fallah's works have been presented in four different auctions, with every piece selling above its pre-sale estimate. These include the 21st Tehran Auction in October 2024, where one of his works sold for 1.87 billion rials (187 million tomans), the Second National Auction in 2015, the Goharan Auction, and a charity auction in Los Angeles.
His works have been exhibited in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, Belarus, Cyprus, Türkiye, the United States (Los Angeles and Virginia), Dubai, and across Iran.

Fallah entered the professional art scene in 1998, at the age of 23, with an exhibition of reverse-glass paintings at Gallery 66, an influential gallery founded by Sadegh Tabrizi. He subsequently held six solo exhibitions, among which Lion with Calligraphy, presented at Art Center Gallery in 2015, received particularly wide critical attention.
Over the years, Fallah has developed a distinctive artistic language through the fusion of painting and Iranian symbolism. He is widely recognized for transforming elements of Persian visual heritage into contemporary artistic expressions. His acclaimed Lions, Roosters, and Aja'ib al-Makhluqat (Wonders of Creation) series have become defining bodies of work within his career.

Many art historians and critics regard Mehrdad Fallah as one of the contemporary artists carrying forward and revitalizing the legacy of the Saqqakhaneh School, one of the most influential movements in modern Iranian art.
